Song: Nouveau Paradis

Heaven

Album: Heaven
Track: #4

I originally conceived this song driving one early spring day up Interstate 68 near the WV/MD border. The idea was to have four 2-minute songs, each representing a season of the year, each a different genre, but each having the same chorus. Ideally it would have ended up a 10 minute song, but it only ended up at about 6. I would say it still works, though ...

I've been tossing rocks in a lake
Feeling the vibration on my barefeet in the mud
Underneath a pine tree listening to appalachian rain

I like to whistle the day away
Taking in the universe as it is and how it was
Deciphering my past in the words of appalachian rain

Like a ripple in a felon sky
Rips through the world for a little while
Fixes its own reality
Puis il se trouve au nouveau paradis

I've been around this world
I've seen faces
I've seen beauty unfurled
And what it erases

Autumn's dark clouds
Its mystery
With heart it resounds
Its history

Like a ripple in a felon sky
Rips through the world for a little while
Fixes its own reality
Puis il se trouve au nouveau paradis

Snow falls on a bridge and it falls down
Crashing to the earth it makes no sound
But things will heat right up when word gets round

Then cold winds chill the body to the bone
Havoc wreaks the oats that someone's sewn
Everyone must greet this world alone

Like a ripple in a felon sky
Rips through the world for a little while
Fixes its own reality
Puis il se trouve au nouveau paradis

Full moon on a raspberry night
Telling stories of an ancient light
It's a foreign world it's trying to reveal
Ancient wounds that I pretend to heal

Evenings wane
And lifetimes the same
Just sit and wait
Here comes fate

Like a ripple in a felon sky
Rips through the world for a little while
Fixes its own reality
Puis il se trouve au nouveau paradis
