While I consider this a serious album, this title seems a bit disruptive. However, there is a back story. My handwriting is less than amazing, and the older I get, the more I use computers, and the worse my handwriting gets. I happened to not have my computer when I composed this song, so I wrote it by hand. I then needed to transcribe it, and that required having my wife read it to me over the phone. Her best guess the line "Don't want the burden" was "DNA coat the burrito," and as someone who loves putting words together in unique ways, I couldn't let that gem disappear into oblivion. The album challenge stated that Phil Taylor had to name the album, so, since I couldn't use it for that, I decided to just use it for the song, and I'll never look back. :)

Lyrics Print

In the flock he flies all alone
Awaiting the day
Today

Someone sees something in him
And his permission to be great
Awaits

But it's his fault they were wrong
He's not following the song that they play
They play

Go on forget me
If you can't even let me explain
Ok

On I go up on the rock, up on the stone
And far away oh the mountains are holding me down

On the day he came back
He was violently attacked
By the place he betrayed

His family was gone
They were killed when he had run away
Afraid

They'd been fought by an enemy
So debilitating
And accusations waited
Of the guilt of the ill-fated

I know that they're gone
You're not following along what I say
Hey

On I'd gone up on the rock, up on the stone
And far away oh the mountains were holding me down

And they would not let me go
If I'd've died who'd ever've known
But that lonely fate is all the purpose I've ever found

So what's left for me to humbly confide if I'm to blame?

I'm no longer whole
Don't wanna rock, don't wanna roll far away
Don't want the burden of leaving my home

On I go up on the rock, up on the stone
And not far away oh the mountains are holding me down
